Steven Macalester, a talented young man with a special way of viewing life. He picked up his first disposable camera in elementary school; it was also during that time that he began to discover the world around him and how differently he was experiencing it as compared to others around him. He learned early on that he did not see things as others did, did not hear things as others did, nor did he learn things as others did – yet see, hear and learn he did. He learned he had Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of Autism. Today this amazing young man is a Graduate Cum Laude from the University of Maryland with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Photography. He uses the mediums of film and digital photography along with his words to bring the rest of us into his world. It is a beautiful world and one that only he can guide us through to see the wonder of it through his eyes. He speaks for those that cannot speak for themselves; he photographs so we can see the world through his eyes. Steven has taken the time to show he who is as an individual, an individual with Autism. Follow Steven as he continues his journey, and helps us to see as he sees, hear as he hears and learn as he learns about this curious thing called Life!
